Claire Calverley Asked White Rose Ultra on June 15th 2015 |
- James Young If its been dry in the days before road shoes will be OK but there are a few muddy bits of trail mixed in with the road sections. I've worn a trail shoe with a light grip last 2 years and it's fine. Certainly don't need any gnarly mud pluggers either way. 15 June
- Gavin Fletcher I wore trail last year (saucony peregrine) and I was fine, definitely not fell though I may use speedcross this year as I've switch shoes. 30 June
- Claire Calverley Ok thanks. 15 June
- Lisa Maughan I wore my road shoes last year and was glad that I did. There is a lot more road than off-road and I wear support shoes so was very glad of the cushioning. 15 June
- White Rose Ultra James is absolutely right Claire, there is likely to be a few muddy parts or many more if we have had tons of the wet stuff but no real need for anything other than light trail. 15 June
- Helen Worsfold I wore my road shoes last year and was fine in them. 16 June
- Sarah Marsden I was happy with my choice of road shoes last year. 16 June
- Steven C Gibson I wore road shoes last year (Saucony Kinvaras) & was very glad I did. We were very lucky with the weather however. 15 June
- Rhianon West Wore road shoes too and was really glad I did. 15 June
- Kieran O'Brien I wore trailrocs last year, and would again. 15 June
- Ally Young I did it in 2013 in foul weather in speedcross. 15 June

- Rhianon West Ran in normal road shoes (asics Kayanos) and they did just fine. I nearly wore Salomon speedcross but glad I didn't in the end as they wouldn't have faired well on the road sections (the downhill parts of which was where I made up most time too) 1 February
- Kirk Hardwick New Balance MT110's were great minimal race shoes for the 60miler, although it was a little greasy in places. 9 January
- Sean O'Halloran I chose the mitzuno wave cabrakan 5 trail shoe and they were spot on for me. A really good shoe and I shall buy another pair once these have died. 8 January
- James Rooney Hoka stinsons - fine for the most part, with exception of the really muddy bits. Will wear Hokas again next time. 8 January
- Andy Connell Used Inov8 290 ultras.....we're ideal...enough grip and enough cushioning. 8 January
- Steven C Gibson I worn Saucony Kinvaras this last year which I found perfect. 8 January
- Luke Hobbart Im doing the 30 this year for my first ultra, hoping my karrimor trail shoes will do the job. 8 January
- Kieron O' Brien Inov8 trailroc were perfect. 8 January
