This race was always going to be a risk for me being 60% road and DNFing in 2016 with my IT band giving up. I went out slow, kept it slow and it looked like I was n for a PB on the 30 ... but no !! the route was 1.7miles longer with significantly more hills, This messed with my head, I rolled in at 7:19 ... legs were shot, i had had enough. I had a sit down, put some clothes on an had a sarnie. Wane Law made me put my head torch and back light on and kicked me out ... I powered walked the first few miles then i got going ... I overtook 5 people and just kept going .. I didnt see anyone in front or behind ... it was amazing watching the fireworks and bonfires .. I thought I might be last but to come in and be told I was 3rd lady really made my day :D I would actually enter the 100 now ... This is a really exciting race .. have a look for next year :D I'll be looking after you... Mwahahahaha x

The volunteers are testament to the event itself and I think I can speak on behalf or probably everyone who entered the event, that it was appreciated, warmly welcomed and just outright amazing the level of commitment the staff and volunteers showed. So thanks to you all! - Sinead O'Connor
A really well signposted route. I had a great time on my first ultra and was delighted to come 3rd  Thanks to all the organisers and marshalls - Richard Lightfoot

Thank to everybody for a fantastic event yesterday. Well-organised race, friendly volunteers, great snacks, really clear signs, (barely had to double-check my Garmin & never touched my map), stunning scenery and even perfect weather  After being ill with a horrible bug 10 days out, I was really worried I was going to have to ask if I could defer a second time, and I was always worried about the cutoff, (typically running 30M ultras in 9-10hours), so I was delighted that I felt OK all the way round and got a massive PB by about ~47mins... What hills??? - Jane Shadforth
just want to say thanks to all the White Rose organisers and volunteers. I really enjoyed the event and the support from the checkpoint crews was great (especially the kids!). I have to admit, I wasn't sure how you were going to clearly mark a 30 mile course but you did a fantastic job and the markers were very easy to follow. Thanks everyone! - Laura Davies

WRU150 what can I say? A great experience, but let me start with the thanks.
First of all I want to thank Carl for coming up with the idea, getting me involved in the challenge and for being there when I managed it. Thanks Man.
Then I want to say thank you to Wane (who let us play with his WRU) and Team OA, all the marshals and the people involved. Course marking was spot on and the food at the HQ kept me going pretty well.
Wane, from next year and onward, you'll have to put it on officially. Or maybe we'd go a little more longer...
Thanks to all the runners and to the random strangers that were cheering us on along the way.
Doing such a distance with a friend sharing the fun and helping each other in the low moments has been a growing experience. Not having cut off times (apart from being in work on monday) is strange and wow at the same time, you can just stop to admire the view or the fireworks.
Anyhow, the White Rose Ultra is definitely reccomended :)

I envied all those who were lounging, relaxing and watching football after 30mi but I had one more lap of 30 mi to do and two thirds of it was in the night. - Prashant Pise
The one thing that struck me about this race was how relaxed the organisation felt – not in a ‘relaxed = sloppy’ kind of way, but in that the organisers seemed relaxed and were having fun. It wasn’t one of those horribly knobby or high pressured start-lines, there was just a lovely atmosphere at the event.
Would I do it again? Absolutely! - Cat Attfield
What a great event, can't fault any part of this race. Well done guys
- Ewan Malone
Thank you for a superb event yesterday, really enjoyed it. Hats off to the feed station volunteers and marshals too for being so friendly and enthusiastic. I'll definitely be back next year! - James Rooney
Team OA.. you did it again..
Thanks to all staff and volunteers for a great day...really appreciate the time and effort you all put in today and can't wait to see you all again on the Oldham Way Ultra. ..top day thanks ......
P.S can we have a Bar at the end of the Oldham Way Ultra please Wane Law..lol - Andy Connel

One of the great views of a fantastic day out, many thanks to all involved - Bob Horsman

This race opened my eyes to just how different the ultra crowd are. None of this clock watching, Garmin checking and run past and leave you for dead that you get in road races. - Erica Spellman
I would just like to thank the organisers, all the guys and gals at the checkpoints including the children, the sweeper for making my 1st ultra very special... Aside from getting sucked into and stuck in a bog the course was Wowzer, super challenging!!! To Jenny who I ran the second half with - we did it!!! A great day out!!! - Samantha Morris
Had a fab day today at the WRU30, brilliantly organised and the flap jacks were proper tasty, great running with folk who love crunching out the miles up and down massive hills, respect to those still out on the moors doing the 60, maybe next year for me _ Jason Hart

One of the best day's running ever. Caz and I ran Team OA's White Rose Ultra. Stunningly beautiful route covering 60 miles and 10000ft of elevation gain around the High Peak, the Colne Valley and the Pennines. Highly recommended. There's a 30 mile option for those wanting to move up a bit more gently from the marathon distance.
We ran times that would have won last year, but this year far better runners than us turned up. Not that today was about running fast, let alone winning. Wonderful to be a part of the ultra-running community, that somehow manages to make the solo sport of running anything but a solo venture.
Great race HQ at Marsden Cricket Club. Thatcher's Gold £2.60 a pint. - Kelvin Dickinson

Before I start this blog post. I just want to say.....I AM AN ULTRA MARATHONER!!!
2015 WRU 100
This is TeamOA’s first 100 miler and yes there are a few things that can be improved but I’d say they do a hell of a lot more right than they get wrong. Thanks for a great few days and a great race. Roll on next year. - Samuel Bolton
Just to point out the ascent is equivalent to Ben Nevis 🙄🙄🙄 per lap
And we did it twice.
No wonder it took so long!!

after completing the WRU 💯, well 110 miles in my case (course was longer and I missed three turnings with a group of people following me on one of them - sorry folks). That final 40 miles tested me mentally and physically more so than any other event that I have signed up for. People presume that I am competitive but I am not, but once I set myself a goal I need to finish what I've started. I had the aim of attempting the WRU 💯 in 24 hours but that wasn't to be, and despite knowing those last 40 miles were going to be slow I just knew that I had to finish what I had started. Thank you to William Mather for battling through with me on that last stretch, and also Linda Isherwood, Fiona Floss Dyson and Angela Buckley for making me and Will go back out. Great support also from Anne-Marie Lord and Howard Dracup. Great catching up with the Gloaturs bunch before and during the event with the highlight of the day being Jessi Ca Ca Scott completing her first 💯 (you are amazing). Now for some much needed rest and recovery from extra long runs until 2019! Kimmy Kens

Thank you all for organizing such a great event last Sunday. Had a brilliant time on the trails, on the roads and in the mud. The whole event was very well organized and the marshalls and volunteers helped out making last Sunday a memorable day. A special thanks to all aid station volunteers standing out there in the cold winds the entire day. I bow my head in gratitude. Greetings from Sweden. - Patrik Verme - 2014 Winner (60 miles)
Thanks for a really well organised and friendly run , your signposting was awesome ... For me not to get lost is a major achievement ( specially as we nearly didn't make it due to me putting the wrong postcode in my sat nav ) . I think if you could've flattened some of those hills first itd have been an ideal first ultra for me ... Maybe something to take on board for the next one - Jayne Moreton

Thank you so much for your fab event yesterday. Even though I came last at just over 9 hours I was so impressed by the support and enthusiasm of all the marshalls/crew. Not one I will come back for (too hilly for us mere mortals) but I will back to help marshall next year! Well done guys. See you at the Chocothlon in April - and if you put on a Cakeathlon I am pretty sure I will be there for that as well! - Jennifer Hawkeby

Many thanks to Wane and his team for a super event. The food stations were well stocked and had smiling enthusiastic volunteers. Special mention too to Kati for keeping me supplied with cake, sugary tea and bacon sandwiches afterwards!

Next time, less hills though? - Kieran O'Brien

I can honestly say that this was one of the best events I have ever participated in. The pre and post race communications were excellent, the team on the day were superb, friendly and even to a first timer like me were very inclusive. An ultra is certainly not easy but anyone with a good level of fitness can do one and more to the point really should do one. The White Rose Ultra was an excellent choice for my first ultra and it could be for you too.

I was quite attracted to the fact that it was a 30 mile loop that the 60 mile race does twice. There is also a 30 mile option and for the first time this year a 100 mile option which is 3 loops plus a 10 mile loop at the start. - John Kynaston
Hi guys, thank you for a very good and well organized race. So happy to have finished 2nd in the 60 miler. Would it be possible to put the podium photo on Facebook or the website. Id love to be able to show my 5 year old daughter

As a step towards zero waste at any of our events, we intent to go cup-less for the 2016 White Rose Ultra, this simply means that if you are not carrying a water bottle etc, you will need to bring some form of cup, that way we don't have to dispose off over 6000 plastic cups! Over 5 aid stations and the finish on the WRU30, 10+ aid stations on the WRU60 and 15+ aid stations on the WRU100 (thats 100 people using 15 aid stations!)
Before anyone suggests we are been tight, we only pay about £1.99 /100 its not the financial cost its the environmental cost, simply a huge amount off waste, that we are no longer willing to create.
BAC Outdoor Leisure all ready have in stock the Hydropack Speed Cup (just an example of what is available)
